Puffy Wall Hearts
I spent quite a few days trying to conjure up some kind of new and unique Valentines crochet project. Then these hearts popped into my head, I know I know they are not crochet but I think you’ll enjoy them all the same. Ive been absent from here for over a year which sucks but with 2020 also came my New Years Resolution to post at least two free patterns a month for youz guyz. I decided to start with February though so I could use all of January to prep ha. So I hope you enjoy, go create.
What you will need:
Three different yarn colors (I used 3 different variations of the same color)
Plastic Grid (you can find these in the embroidery section of your local craft store)
Scissors
Pompom maker (I used the green smaller one) or a cardboard type Pom Pom maker
Yarn needle
Let’s get started:
So you will be making a total of 46 Pom Poms.
9 Lightest color Pom Poms
18 Medium color Pom Poms
19 Darkest color Pom Poms
Next you will mark out your heart on the plastic grid. Using a sharpie layout the heart in 8x8 blocks.
These grid sheets are typically 70x90 square holes. Finding the center of the widest edge is the easiest way to start off, then just follow the picture above. Total of 46 8x8 blocks. One Pom Pom for each block.
Once you have your line work done, cut out your heart.
Following the chart above start attaching your Pom Poms to the grid as shown below.
Once its finished the back of your heart should look something like this. I tied a piece of yarn through. The center of the bottom of the second row from top to use for hanging purposes.
For the pink one I just flipped the color placement in the opposite direction.
