Sl St- Slip Stitch
Materials
In this tutorial I used cotton worsted weight yarn and a 4.25mm hook, but you should be able to achieve this with any combination as long as it is single crochet format.
Semi Circle
We will do the semi circle first
Row 1: Start with a magic circle and SC 6 stitches into the circle. Tighten circle but do not join
The key is to start each row by chaining one (counts as first sc) , always INC in second stitch, then continue with the standard increase form for each row
Row 2: CH 1 and turn/ INC / Sc / INC / Sc / INC (9)
Row 3: CH 1 and turn/ INC / Sc / Sc/ INC / Sc / Sc /INC / Sc (12)
Row 4: CH 1 and turn/ INC / Sc / Sc / Sc / INC / Sc / Sc / Sc/ INC / Sc / Sc (15)
Row 5: CH 1 and turn/ INC / Sc / Sc / Sc / Sc / INC / Sc / Sc / Sc / Sc /INC / Sc / Sc / Sc (18)
Continue in this manner until you have your desired size.
This is 2 rows
This is 4 rows
This is 6 rows
Close up of the beginning of a row.
There you have it, a straight edged semi-circle!
Perfect Circle
Row 1: To start create a magic circle, SC 10 into center
The key in this case is to treat the chain one NOT as a SC and to always finish with an INC stitch.
Row 2: Ch 1 / Sc / INC / Sc / INC / Sc / INC / Sc / INC / Sc / INC (15)
Row 3: Ch 1 and /Sc / Sc / INC / Sc / Sc / INC / Sc / Sc / INC / Sc / Sc / INC / Sc / Sc / INC (20)
Row 4: Ch 1 and / Sc / Sc / Sc / INC / Sc / Sc / Sc / INC / Sc / Sc / Sc / INC / Sc / Sc / Sc / INC / Sc / Sc / Sc / INC (25)
